Get ready for the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba this long weekend, jam-packed with a parade, stage shows, children’s entertainment, culture and heritage pavilion, the Viking Village, midway, sporting events and much, much more! You can also check out a reading of local author David Arnason’s new novel, Baldur’s Song: A Saga, at the festival kick-off and preview on Friday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at McNally Robinson Grant Park. Arnason is the head of the English Department at the University of Manitoba and the acting head of the university’s Icelandic Studies Department.
